Dear Alejandrina,

We got your letter today. As always we take a long time to write. Since we arrived back home we plunged into work and school. I still haven’t caught up with my things and this is the first letter I write (I wrote to Pía to thank her for her hospitality and that was all). Now I have to have prints made of the photos and send them to everybody. I have already made copies of those I took at Nany’s birthday party and as soon as I can I will send them to Alicia.
It is a shame that the photos I took at my dad’s house came out badly, but luckily the others came out well. It seems a century since we were over there. How quickly the time went! We would have wanted to stay longer!
Here we have winter arriving rapidly. Luckily, as you say, we brought the good weather away with us and September was a beautiful month. Today it is raining for the first time in a month.
As Pablo already wrote, we have removed the paths from the garden and we laid turf. All is grass and plants; it’s looking very nice. For next year I am going to fill the side corridor with pots to cover it with plants. It is always the same for me; I start waiting for spring already in autumn. With uncle and aunt
We are all well, still without colds and even Francesca got well completely and put on 300g in weight in two weeks. The doctor told me not to give her milk any more because she can get calcium from other things. She has grown a lot and become very mischievous. The trip has stimulated her very much and she is even talking a lot.
She says Pablo, poo- poo, give me, take this, boy and girl, look, mummy and daddy, pipi, etc. in Spanish.
She loved the little dove and shouted, pouting, “birdie, birdie!”

Querida Alejandrina:

Hoy llegó su carta. Como siempre nosotros somos tardíos para escribir. Desde que llegamos a casa nos zambullimos en el trabajo y en la escuela. Todavía no conseguí ponerme al día con mis cosas y ésta es la primera carta que escribo (le escribí a Pía para agradecerle su hospitalidad y nada más). Ahora tengo que hacer copias de las fotos y mandarlas a todo el mundo. Ya hico copias de las que saqué en el cumpleaños de Nani y en cuanto pueda se las mandaré a Alicia.Lástima las fotos que saqué en casa de mi papá que salieron mal y ni se ven. Pero por suerte las demás salieron bien. Ya parece que hiciera un siglo que estuvimos por allá. ¡Qué rápido que pasó el tiempo! ¡Nos quedamos con las ganas de quedarnos un poco más!.
Ahora aquí se nos viene el invierno. Por suerte, como Ud dice nos trajimos el buen tiempo para aquí y septiembre fue hermoso. Hoy llueve por primera vez en un mes.
Como Pablo le cuenta, sacamos los caminitos del jardín y pusimos todo pasto y plantes. Quedó muy bien. Para el año que viene voy a llenar el pasillo del costado de la casa de macetas así queda cubierto de plantas. Siempre me pasa lo mismo, en otoño ya me pongo a esperar la primavera.
Estamos todos bien, sin resfríos todavía y hasta Francesca se repuso totalmente y aumentó 300g de peso en 2 semanas. La doctora me dijo que no le dé más leche y que puede obtener calcio de otras cosas y no necesita leche. Está grande y hecha una pícara. El viaje la avispó muchísimo y hasta se largó bastante a hablar.
Dice Pablo, caca, dame, tomá, nene y nena, mirá, papá y mamá, pipí, etc.
La palomita le gustó mucho y enseguida puso trompita y gritó: “¡pipí, pipí!”
Espero que siga bien, siempre ocupada con sus cosas.
