We had spent the end of year festivities in Buenos Aires - Habíamos pasado las fiestas de fin de año en Buenos Aires

Dear Alejandrina,

I write in a hurry while Francesca is at the ballet class. It seems unbelievable that a month and a half has passed since our return. We had such great holidays and I at least had such a good rest and enjoyed myself so much that it was a shock to come back home because the usual hard work and the running about started straight away.
Oscar was unlucky over there with his tooth and feeling ill, but even so he enjoyed himself. We would have needed another month or so to do everything in a more relaxed manner. What happened when we left was a shame; it spoiled our departure for us and for everyone who came to see us off. The flight was long and tiring, but nothing lasts forever.

Now our winter is nearly over and it has not been very cold. The streets are in bloom with all the trees that flower at this time of the year, like plums and cherries, covered in blossom, and everything is starting to grow. It is beautiful. My pear tree is about to blossom and the bulbs are starting to flower. There are daffodils everywhere, which is always marvellous. The only pity is that, because it hasn’t rained during the winter, it will probably rain now for a long time.
The children are very happy, Pablo started fencing classes, on top of the judo and gymnastics he was already doing, and luckily the father of one of his friends (remember Martin?) takes them both.

Francesca continues with ballet and gymnastics and soon will start swimming lessons. Now that she has decided to speak Spanish she doesn’t speak anything else at home, so the trip was very good for her. She is behaving much more grown up and young lady like. When we arrived back we gave another birthday party for her friends here and now she thinks that she has several birthdays and asks when is the next one due.

I am enclosing some little photos I took at Teresa’s. I have another roll in the camera and when I have it developed I will write to Alicia because I have some photos of Nani to send her. I hope they come out well.

Oscar is very well, having the teeth that bothered him seen to. It appears that they did a very good job in Buenos Aires.
OK Alejandrina, I will say goodbye. I hope you are well, give our love to the whole family and tell the girls to be patient, little by little I will write to everyone.
A big hug from
Patricia

Querida Alejandrina:

Bueno Alejandrina, me despido.
Patricia
